Chris Brown's denial tour 2009 continues ... he just filed legal papers claiming he's not to blame for a nasty accident at a sports club in Los Angeles.
Brown was sued by a paparazzo (not ours) back in May. Robert Rosen claimed he fell down a stairwell at an LA Fitness club after being chased by Brown's bodyguards and was then allegedly assaulted.
Brown has just filed legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- claiming he's not responsible for the injuries because LA Fitness didn't properly maintain and supervise its operation -- we're assuming that means keeping photogs out of the joint.
The incident occurred a month after Brown assaulted Rihanna.
Brown claims ... if Rosen gets a judgment, the cost shouldn't be on his shoulders.
Chris Brown is in court today for a progress report hearing.
Brown pled guilty to assaulting Rihanna back in June -- and was sentenced to 180 days of hard labor plus a bunch of other stipulations, including one year of domestic violence counseling. UPDATE 2:10 PM PT: All done -- the judge is satisfied -- next progress report hearing is scheduled for February 18.
UPDATE 2:08 PM PT: Brown has also completed 7 of his 52 domestic violence classes.
UPDATE 2:05 PM PT: Brown's progress report was just handed to the judge, which showed he has completed 100 hours of community service already.
UPDATE 2:04 PM PT: Here we go!
UPDATE 2:03 PM PT: Brown and one bodyguard are now sitting in the courtroom.
Chris Brown is about to show up in court for his probation progress report in the Rihanna case.
Sources say Brown will tell the judge he's on track with his community service -- performing 4 days of it every week. We're told he'll also say he's attending one anger management course a week.
Rihanna doesn't completely hate the sound of Chris Brown's voice -- in fact, she claims she still listens to his music.
In an interview today with The Bert Show on Q100 Atlanta, Rihanna said that despite their battered past, she misses her ex -- and still listens to his songs when they come on the radio.
As for that rumor she's dating "90210"/"The Wire" star Tristan Wilds, she claims they did hang out at a house party she threw, but she didn't even get his digits.
Seems high school kids have a short term memory when it comes to current events -- because Chris Brown was hailed as a conquering hero when he showed up for a b-ball game.
Brown rolled into L.A.'s Cleveland High School for a celeb basketball game sponsored by local radio station Power 106 -- and, shockingly ... no controversy over his appearance. In fact, it was the opposite.
Assistant Principal of Athletics Carlos Valdovinos tells TMZ the students did not have Rihanna on the brain. Everyone acted "as if nothing ever happened."
Valdovinos says the girls "were going berserk." Doubt it? Just watch the video.
Chris Brown was the target of a nasty verbal attack last night -- as one outspoken woman unleashed a profanity-laced assault right in the singer's face.
It all went down as the convicted felon posed with fans at Footaction in NY last night -- when out of nowhere one woman in the crowd got close to him and began shouting, "f**king beater" and "I hope someone beats the f**king crap out of you!"
Chris smiled and walked right past the screaming woman -- but Brown's devoted fans defended his honor by shouting, "Smack that bitch up."
Rihanna feels Chris Brown had "no limits" because fame came to him at such a young age -- and that may have played a role in the brutal beating earlier this year.
Rihanna told Diane Sawyer on "20/20" last night, "Fame came to Chris very young ... You're a kid and the word 'no' doesn't exist? You become invincible. There's no right or wrong, you just do."
RiRi also said she hasn't heard Chris' "apology" song and thinks his apology video online looked like he was reading from a teleprompter.
Rihanna described all the horrific details of Chris Brown's brutal attack on her last February -- claiming he was soulless and had "clearly blacked out" when he was smashing her face in.
On "Good Morning America," Rihanna explained how a fight over a text message set him off -- and once the beating started, all she could think about was "When is it going to stop?"
Interestingly enough, she says she doesn't hate him -- and instead wants him to "have a great career" and to "take this as something to go through and learn."
Rihanna revealed that she got back with Chris Brown after the brutal beating she took in February -- but broke it off for good when she realized the dangerous message she was sending to her young fans.
This morning on "Good Morning America" an emotional Rihanna told Diane Sawyer she didn't want to be responsible for "some young girl getting killed" for following in her footsteps.
Rihanna added "Don't react off of love. Eff love."
Chris Brown may not "mess wit""Bad Girls Club"contestant Natalie Nunn, but according to her, Brown did want to marry her.
TMZ obtained this video of Natalie inside the "Bad Girls" crib talking about how much she wants the convicted felon -- a dude who she says "might beat Rihanna," but "doesn't beat me."
Clearly, she sets her standards high.
UPDATE: Chris posted the following comment on his Twitter: "WTF!!!! WHAT MOON WAS THIS GIRL ON WHEN SHE THOUGHT OF THIS OUTRAGEOUS LIE>SHE ON TMZ TRYNA MAKE A NAME FOR HERSELF.I DONT KNOW YOU. I TOOK A PICTURE WITH THIS GIRL AT ME A POLOWS SKATE PARTY AND SHE RAN WITH THE STORY. SHE'S T'D (TIRED). I GOTTA LIMIT WHO I TAKE PHOTOS WIT NOW... some people have motives thataren't positive.."
Oprah took a hard stand on Chris Brown, but just a few days ago the talk show host allowed another famous alleged woman-abuser on her show -- and now the victim says she feels betrayed.
The man in question is gospel singer BeBe Winans -- who is accused of shoving his ex-wife Debra Winans to the ground in front of their kids back in February. BeBe was on "Oprah" on Friday to pimp out his new gospel CD -- his domestic violence charge is pending until another court hearing next year.
Debra tells TMZ she's "hurt by Oprah's decision to have Bebe on the show" -- especially after she refused to have Chris Brown on her show in the wake of the Rihanna beating.
TMZ has learned Chris Brown has been getting pretty close with a new woman recently -- and this one is a very bad girl.
The woman in the photos is Natalie Nunn, a contestant on the next season of a reality show called "The Bad Girls Club" -- which features women with behavioral issues.
Nunn has been out with Brown a couple times in the last few weeks -- most recently at a roller-skating party on October 16th.
In her bio for the show Nat says she "enjoys cruising in her sugar daddies' expensive cars and painting the town red with her cool celebrity friends."
She has an interesting interpretation of "cool."
UPDATE: Brown just Twittered on the subject: "Tmz..omg.... U guys have nothing better to do. And by the way. I don't mess wit that girl."
It appears Chris Brown was having a hardcore emotional moment about screwing up his relationship with Rihanna -- 'cause dude just used his Twitter page to reflect about "The Way We Used to Be."
Just a few hours ago -- around midnight -- Brown linked to a user-made video montage, set to the tune of R. Kelly's "The Way We Used to Be," showing footage of Brown and RiRi before he destroyed her face ... and their relationship. Brown included text with the post that read, " IM SORRY YALL. JUST HAD TO POST IT."
Minutes later, Brown posted a follow up Tweet which read, "FOR THE FELLAS: showing emotion doesn't make u weak... BEING HONEST MAKES U STRONG."
Brown isn't allowed to get within 100 yards of Rihanna -- but the real question here, is he trying to get back together?
